A key goal of the SCMFC is to take its education and outreach programmes into different regions of the world, developing customised programmes for small country officials that reflect the unique challenges they face and specific skills they require. In all cases, we work with partner organizations to create customised, innovative programmes that focus on outcome, and are sustainable and transformative.
In January 2018, we developed a customised programme focusing on negotiation that took place at the University of the South Pacific in the Cook Islands and saw 30 Cook Islanders attend from both the private and public sector. In March 2018, we partnered with the IMF’s West Africa Regional Technical Assistance Centre for a four-day workshop in Accra, Ghana for senior Central Bank officials from the region.
Bespoke Programmes
We have considerable expertise in the design and delivery of programmes aimed at developing senior public servants from small countries, so that they can reach their true potential. What we do is unique: no other programmes combine a focus on hard-edged technical skills, with the highest quality input on softer skills, such as leadership, negotiation and influencing. Our main focus is on our greatly renowned, highly impactive and hugely successful annual programme, but we are able to provide bespoke programmes on a national or regional basis, such as those we have run in both the Cook Islands and West Africa.
We are always keen to explore new opportunities and we are happy to talk to anyone, who feels that we may be able to help. It is difficult for small countries to access world-class training and development, but we can make this happen.
